2013 Ch. Bourgneuf, Pomerol 3/4 l
Château Bourgneuf 2013
The Bourgneuf 2013 has a very sensual bouquet with raspberry, kirsch and a touch of Provençal herbs. With continued aeration there is a hint of seaweed that surfaces. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft opening. There is decent weight to this Bourgneuf with dark plum and raspberry fruit, although it is missing a little structure towards the finish. Nevertheless, one can appreciate the easy-drinking style and it finishes with some swagger, attired in some lovely strawberry fruit.
Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate – April 2014
2013 had little yield – only 17hl/ha. 35% new oak. It was mineral with fine acidity, black and red fruit, energetic, precise winemaking. Very well-made wine.
Izak Litwar – greatbordeauxwines.com – March 2014
Plump and open, with a mélange of strawberry, cherry and raspberry fruit lined with subtle red liquorice and toasted spice notes. Offers a juicy, rounded finish.
James Molesworth – Wine Spectator – April 2014
Belle définition de texture avec un grain de tanin très précis et une chair savoureuse, fruit précis. En tendresse, mais avec du fond.
